Tarek M. Mekhail, MD, MSc, FRCSI, FRCSEd, is Medical Director of the Thoracic Cancer Program at the Cancer Institute of Florida in Orlando. He received his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University in Egypt. Dr. Mekhail completed an internship and an ENT residency at Cairo University Hospitals; ENT and Head and Neck Surgery training in the United Kingdom; and a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Mekhail also received a master’s degree in ENT and Head and Neck Surgery from Cairo University. He is board-certified in Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Dr. Mekhail’s clinical interests include lung cancer, head and neck cancer, aerodigestive malignancies, and the development of novel agents. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer. Dr. Mekhail has authored or coauthored numerous publications and presentations in the fields of cancer and cancer research.
