Minsig Choi, MD, is Associate Professor at Stony Brook University and Director of Outpatient Oncology at the Stony Brook University Cancer Center in New York. He is co-leader for the GI multidisciplinary team and manages a large number of patients in the Long Island area. He received his medical degree from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at Chicago Medical School/Finch University of Health Sciences in North Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Choi subsequently completed a fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at Wayne State University and the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, Michigan. He is board-certified in Medical Oncology and has specialized in the treatment of GI Oncology for the last 20 years.
Dr. Choi is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the International Society of Gastrointestinal Oncology. His current research interests include metastatic gastric cancer, metastatic pancreatic cancer, and metastatic colorectal cancer. Dr. Choi is on the editorial board for the Journal of Multidisciplinary Cancer Care and serves as a reviewer for a number of journals, including Colorectal Disease, Oncology, the American Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Federal Practitioner. His work has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals, and he has coauthored four book chapters in the field of cancer care.
